I am the original owner of this beautiful Proteus barometer. I bought it instrument brand new from Maximum Inc. about 35 years ago. It has been well cared for and always used indoors. I made a stand for it using solid oak, which I include in this offering. I can remove the wood stand if you are not interested in it. In that case, it will be lighter and cheaper to ship. The brass casing shines brightly without any corrosion or dents. There are some minor scratches on the finish near one of the screws mounting the instrument to the stand. The aneroid mechanism works well, and the readings track well with digital barometers I have. It could easily last for at least 50 years, or more. A new Proteus barometer currently lists for $675.
