Very heavy and ornate bookends from Lee Valley - Canada. Pattern is oak leaves and acorns, and the bronze plaque features a Louis Pasteur quote "Chance favors the prepared mind." Great back-to-school or graduation gift. Measure 5 3/4" tall and 5 1/2" across. Backing is green velvet. There are cork buttons to protect shelving (looks like a cork piece is missing on one bookend.) Vintage but never used; in the box, and coming from a non-smoking environment.
