11 x Addis Carving Chisels and Gouges from the Ben Harms Collection

Ben Harms (1955–2021) was a German-born traditional woodcarver working in England, with pieces displayed at the Tower of London, Windsor Castle, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court, and alongside work by Grinling Gibbons at Petworth House. He moved to England in 1968, training under Eke and Gonzalez before working at Trollope and Coles, and later formed his own partnership, Gonzalez and Harms, specializing in traditional carving and gilding.  (Wikipedia)

His standout commission came after the 1992 Windsor Castle fire, when Gonzalez and Harms recarved the four Queen's Beasts that had been destroyed, matching the originals as closely as possible.  (Wikipedia) He also restored three carved horses at the Tower of London armoury and worked on Uppark House after its 1989 fire. Harms served as President of the Master Carvers' Association from 2008 to 2010,  (Mastercarvers) and ran his own firm, Ben Harms Ltd, until his death in 2021.

I purchased all of the tools from the estate of Ben Harms including all of his Carving tools and reference books

Item is used so you should expect signs of use and age throughout such as scratches, marks, dust and fading
