Our industrial style leg is hand crafted from heavy duty square metal box section as shown in our picture gallery . The leg has a fully welded 5mm thick top plate, which measures 100mm x 50mm, our leg is strong and robust due to being constructed from 3mm thick 30 x 30 box section size . Our extra large top fixing plate provides a larger surface area footprint for fixing & support purposes on your table or worktop area.

Each leg is fitted with an integrated floor anti scratch end cap to protect your floor from potential damage.

All our fabrications are manufactured by City & Guilds qualified fabricators , qualifications are posted on the sale page pictures.

The colour of the steel may vary slightly from batch to bacth and from the picture gallery , but it will be the same high grade and quality. Our legs are not painted .

Each leg top support plate is pre-drilled with 4 x 6mm fixing countersunk holes in each corner of the top plate

In the world of table legs the most common is the hairpin leg .

Did you know Hairpins were Invented due to the war ! Furniture trends come and go, so it may surprise you that hairpin legs have been about for over seventy years. Their inventor, Vienna-born Henry P. Glass, was working in New York for industrial designer Russel Wright when he crafted the world?s first hairpin leg, in 1941.

Hairpin legs came about as raw materials were very scarce during World War 2 , so designs that used minimal materials were in demand, times have now changed and we have a good source of steel in the UK . Why compromise on quality and strength by using hairpin legs , our box section legs which are far stronger and more pleasing on the eye.

Mr Glass was a true legend back in the day , however time has moved on and so have leg designs for the better.
