As shown in the photos, there are marks from attempts to remove it with adhesive tape, resulting in some cosmetic damage, but the camera can still be used.
The unit cannot be powered by the internal battery.

The unit can be started and used for shooting normally with DC 12V input (external power) or a dummy battery/external power supply setup.
