A RARE AND MAGNIFICENT SANCALL OR JUN-GLAZED AND PARCEL-GILDED PORCELAIN FIGURE OF A BODHISATTVA (MEDICINE BUDDHA / DI ZANG)QING DYNASTY
Exceptionally potted and finely modeled, the figure is depicted standing atop a double-lotus pedestal. The deity is dressed in flowing robes draped gracefully over the shoulders, colored in vibrant mottled blue and deep turquoise-green glazes reminiscent of Jun or Shiwan wares. The chest, hands, feet, and serene facial features are highlighted with rich gilding, creating a striking contrast with the lustrous glazes. The hands are held in front of the chest, reverently cradling a multi-tiered pagoda (stupa). The face displays a tranquil expression with downcast eyes and a subtle smile, crowned by tightly curled hair painted in deep cobalt blue. The combination of brilliant color glazes and fine parcel-gilding reflects the high craftsmanship of late Ming to early Qing ceramic sculptures, bridging sacred Buddhist iconography with exquisite decorative artistry.
