This is a Canadian Fenian Raid medal with 1870 bar. The medal is named to D. Dubé of the 2nd Company of the Rivière Du Loup Militia. This unit was one of four independent infantry companies formed in 1869 in Trois-Rivières Quebec. In 1871 the 4 companies would unite to form the Three Rivers Provisional Battalion of Infantry. In 1880 they would be renamed the 86th Three Rivers Battalion of Infantry and in 1900 they would be 86th Three Rivers Regiment. The official Honour Roll lists him with the 86th Regiment but the medal is stamped with the original Company of Rivières Du Loup he belonged to during the 1870 Fenian Raid.
