A charming vintage folding wooden Chess and Backgammon travel set, believed to date from around the 1970s.

The compact wooden case opens to reveal a traditional chessboard, while the interior features a colourful backgammon board, making this a versatile two-in-one games set. When closed, the board provides secure storage for the complete set of chess pieces.

The set includes all 32 original turned wooden chess pieces, each retaining its original blue baize base. The board is finished in alternating black and natural wood playing squares, framed by an attractive red-stained border with decorative string inlay.
