Up for sale is a stunning and rare Chinese antique Hetian white/pale-greenish jade chime (玉磬/玉扁). Masterfully hand-carved with intricate openwork (镂雕), this piece features a traditional auspicious design with a central Swastika (万字纹) flanked by elegant bats (蝙蝠纹 - symbolizing blessings and good fortune) and floral scrolling motifs. Historically inspired by ancient Chinese musical stone chimes, jades of this form were highly prized by scholars and aristocrats as symbols of high status and harmony. The jade shows an even, translucent tone with a beautiful silky luster. It comes with a custom-fitted wooden display stand that perfectly showcases its arched silhouette.
