Johann Matthaeus Tesdorpf (1749–1824) was a prominent statesman and merchant who served as Mayor of the Free City of Lübeck. A patron of the arts and a savvy diplomat, he successfully navigated the city through the turbulent Napoleonic occupation and is celebrated for rebuilding Lübeck's economy following the French withdrawal.
