Original 1963 paperback catalogue produced for the landmark Printing and the Mind of Man exhibitions held at the British Museum and Earls Court in connection with the Eleventh International Printing Machinery and Allied Trades Exhibition.


This illustrated catalogue documents important books, printing processes, machinery, and printed materials selected to demonstrate the influence of printing on Western civilization. The exhibition later inspired the expanded 1967 bibliographical reference work commonly known as PMM.

Condition: Good vintage condition overall. Paperback covers show age toning, light soiling, edge wear, and corner creasing. A handwritten date appears inside the front cover, and a previous owner’s signature and date appear on the preliminary title page. Pages show light age toning with occasional spotting.
