This is a rare hanging scroll featuring a traditional Japanese painting by the Edo period artist Kano Sokuyo (unknown - 1734). Known for his role as a court painter, Kano Sokuyo created exquisite wall and screen paintings, including works such as the "Ueno Kan'ei-ji Temple Visit Scene" (owned by Itabashi City Museum of Art). This scroll measures approximately 71.7 inches (182 cm) in height and 19.5 inches (49.5 cm) in width for the mounting, with the artwork itself measuring about 37.4 inches (94 cm) high and 14.9 inches (37.7 cm) wide. The piece is painted on silk and comes with its original era box.
