MUSIC - Franz Schubert's "Die Liebe hat gelogen":  This image is an antique postcard designed by Mela Koehler for the Wiener Werkstätte, likely manufactured around 1920.  It is specifically titled "Die Liese hat gelogen" (Liese lied) and was part of a series numbered 1221 by the Deutscher Schulverein.  The scene depicts a young woman in a dark dress leaning in a window, with the musical score for the song included at the bottom.  The musical score is from Franz Schubert's "Die Liebe hat gelogen" (Love has lied), Op. 23, No. 1 (D. 751). It is a setting of a poem by Count August von Platen. The text shown in German on the postcard is translated as: "Love has lied, worries weigh heavily; I have been deceived, alas! Deceived by everything around me!"
