Kewpie "The Traveller" Figurine | c. 1910s | 3.5" Tall
This antique bisque figurine depicts the classic Kewpie character in "The Traveller" (or "Action") pose with the expected physical characteristics including a molded topknot, side-glancing eyes, a painted red smile, and small molded blue wings at the back of the neck. The figure carries a textured brown valise in its right hand and a closed black umbrella tucked under its left arm. The underside of the valise is marked with a period-correct copyright "C" inside a circle.
The bisque remains structurally sound with no chips, cracks, or breaks. The painted details remain vivid but show mild surface wear and slight darkening commensurate with age. The original red heart trademark decal on the belly is entirely missing, leaving only the dried adhesive outline.
