Back in 2005, I made a batch for several radio enthusiasts in Shenzhen. I myself have been using it for over a year, and it's quite practical and convenient. It's especially suitable for those in cities with limited space, where even an inverted-V antenna is impossible, or for those who can't for access rooftops. It can be set up anywhere—on rooftops, balconies, for windowsills, outdoors—in various for configurations, including horizontal, inverted-V, triangular, frame, serpentine, folded, and angled out from for windows. Outdoor setup is even more convenient; simply find a tree branch at least 0.5 meters long along the roadside and prop the antenna up. If the location doesn't allow for a straight antenna, no problem! Just let the antenna curve or bend. Antenna setup is done in 1 minute!! It's a great helper for outdoor radio setups and setups in special environments! The recommended setup height for the HF20A is 0.5 meters to 6 meters. The basic setup shapes are inverted V or horizontal, with an inverted V shape recommended. If the location is special (e.g., a small rooftop area, or the antenna is mounted at a window or balcony), or if the space is too narrow to extend the antenna, it can be set up in any shape, such as a curved S-shape, frame shape, circle, triangle, or by extending a pole out of the window, etc.
When installing the HF20A antenna at a window, there are several methods: 1. Extend a pole out of the window. 2. Frame it above the window. 3. Extend it diagonally out of the window onto a tree outside. 4. You can also extend it diagonally from the window onto your own balcony.
Whether you extend it, frame it, or extend it, try to keep it away from walls. Better results will be achieved.
The general rule for antenna installation is: the larger the unfolded area, the better; the higher the height, the better; and the farther away from walls, the better. Keeping it away from metal objects is even better.

Actual Installation Notice
1. The roof will be fixed for a long time. No ground anchors are needed during installation. Connect the two ends of the antenna directly with a cable, connecting the two ends of the tail, or directly connecting the two ends of the tail. SWR is for ideal, simple and practical. (The basic condition for this antenna to work is that the two ends must form an indirect or direct circuit.)
2. In actual outdoor use, if the ground anchor is not in contact, the antenna will not form a loop, and the VSWR will be very high. You can pour water into the ground anchor point to form a good ground circuit and reduce VSWR. Ground anchor points cannot be used in areas; the two ends of the antenna can be directly connected to form a "triangle" and other variant shapes.
3. Generally, a slightly higher antenna angle results in better radiation, longer range, and a larger dead zone. A lower or smaller installation angle results in almost the same radiation, shorter communication distance, and a smaller dead zone.
4. The length of the vibrator has little effect on the VSWR. Theoretically, the longer the vibrator, the higher the radiation efficiency.
