Pre-owned antique condition. Brass fillet wheel exhibits age-related patina, oxidation, and surface wear consistent with long-term use. The steel shank has light surface oxidation and wear. The wooden handle shows finish loss, scratches, scuffs, and age-related wear throughout. The original black handle covering is heavily cracked, brittle, and separating in several areas but remains attached. The wheel rotates freely.

This style of hand tool was traditionally used by bookbinders to impress straight decorative lines into leather book covers and spines during the finishing process, either blind-tooled or with gold leaf.

The tool features a solid brass wheel mounted to a forged steel arm with a long wooden handle. It retains an aged patina from years of use and displays well as an authentic example of an early bookbinding or leatherworking tool.
