Authentic antique bookbinding finishing wheel (also known as a fillet or gilding wheel) featuring a turned hardwood handle with a forged iron/steel shaft and smooth finishing wheel. These tools were traditionally heated and used by bookbinders and leatherworkers to create decorative lines and gilt impressions on leather book covers and fine leather goods. Approx. 4.5 inch wheel.

This is an original antique tool with desirable age patina, making it suitable for collectors, bookbinding workshops, leatherworking, or display. No maker’s mark was found during inspection.
