This is for Athearn GP Series locos.  

The motor mount is to install a Kato motor on an Athearn chassis. I have designed and 3D printed all the parts myself from scratch. It took me lots of hours and trail and error to get it right. I have made the right drive shafts for them too. My drive shaft (the hubs) fit tighter than the Athearn one. This way it won't wobble or make noise. There is a long one and a slightly shorter one.  The spacers fit inside the flywheel before installing the drive shaft. Whoever buys this kit I will send him instructions on how to install the motor in the mount. Basically you install my motor mount the same way you install a Athearn motor mount in your loco. 

You can use the Athearn motor mounts ( mounts with two screws) to install this motor mount. I have provided the pic.

The motor that I have used to design this kit is three inches long. Please look at the pic with the ruler and motor to make sure you motor has the same dimensions. If yours is different let me know so, I can make the correction. Most likely it would be the length of the shaft that I have to modify. 

This is the best conversion motor mount you can buy with the drive shafts.

NOTE: The chassis, the shell, the Kato motor are not included.The white two screw motor mounts are not included. 

 

You will get two shafts two spacers and one 3D printed motor mount. 

I have other custom motor mounts for upgrading your AThearn  regular motors to Genesis and Japanese Proto Power West  or similar motors.
