Rare opportunity to buy a rust free 1978 Triumph spitfire with a super hot 13B twin rotor Mazda RX7 engine in it.  Professionally converted some time before I bought the car,  works looks solid, and engine was rebuilt at the time of the conversion several years ago. 

  This car was parked in a garage for about 2 or 3 years when I purchased it last year.  Any problems with this car are a result of it just sitting and not being used.  Engine fitted with sidedraft Weber carburetor and I do not think the accelerator pump is working,  so no amount of pumping the gas pedal gets gas to the cold engine.    There is no choke on the car, so can be hard to start cold, I have found a shot of starting fluid always makes it start immediately, and once warm it always starts. 

       Engine runs great,  sounds great,   and is VERY FAST.   It is almost difficult to drive this sanely , without breaking the rear tires loose.     I think the engine has about 165 HP, I am told (and believe , driving it)  much more than the original 55.   

         Transmission is a MAZDA MIATA 5 speed, and feels/ shifts perfectly.   

         SEATS are also MAZDA MIATA , and are heated , and have speakers built into the headrests.    Feel great,   sound great, and the seat heaters work!   Seats are also a good fit for larger people,  like myself. 

   The car is small,  however,  and it is a tight fit for me (6 feet tall ,  240 pounds) making driving a bit unpleasant?     Not easy for me to get in and out of. 

     I think the biggest problem with the car is that the ignition switch (on the steering column) is 'crusty' and sometimes does not make its electrical connections ,  sometimes car will not start and electrical things are not working.   I purchased a new ignition switch for the car,  and if you BUY IT NOW for my asking price, I will replace the switch for you . 

     Car starts,  runs, drives and stops excellently.         It is small , however.      Very upgraded mechanically and seat-wise.     Soft top in excellent condition.      Carpets look good.
