Spectacular handmade vintage folk/fiesta/peasant style novelty blouse, likely dating to the late 1940s or very early 1950s. Features vibrant satin-stitched floral embroidery, softly puffed sleeves, a wide scoop neckline trimmed with decorative lace, and a back keyhole opening with tie closure. Designed in a loose, boxy, straight-cut silhouette with a subtle A-line shape through the body. Elasticized sleeve cuffs.

Crafted from a lightweight fabric with a crisp, papery hand and a soft, subtle luster; it feels like silk or possibly a silk/rayon blend. The vivid coral-pink lace trim at the neckline may be original or may have been replaced early in the garment’s life.

Condition:

Good overall vintage condition with wear consistent with age and minor surface imperfections.

* A few subtle areas of faint discoloration/color bleed.

* A couple of tiny pinholes visible only upon close inspection, a small repair near the back hem, and an original period patched repair to the reverse left shoulder area (beautifully executed).

*Minor age-related wear to the embroidered appliqué, including slight lifting along one edge of the blue floral motif with light edge fraying; remains securely attached overall.

* Sleeve cuff elastic has relaxed slightly with age but still retains gentle stretch.

Imperfections are not obvious or distracting when worn. The blouse presents beautifully overall, is structurally sound, and remains fully wearable as is. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
