Hniezdne, SLOVAKIA - Hniezdne Bathhouse - MULTIVIEW:  Hniezdne (historically known as Gnézda in Hungarian or Kniesen in German) is in the District of Stará Ľubovňa in the Prešov Region in the Ľubovnianska kotlina valley along the Poprad River.  In the Ľubovnianska kotlina valley along the Poprad river.  The image shows the historic Gnézdai fürdő (Hniezdne Bathhouse), also known locally as "Švabľovka," located in northern Slovakia.
History and Origins
-  Establishment: The spa was established in the 19th century near sulfur springs hidden in the forests of the northern Spiš region.
-  Purpose: It was a popular destination for locals and visitors seeking relief from rheumatism and general relaxation.
-  Facilities: In its heyday, the site featured 15 wooden tubs filled with warm sulfur water and included a dancing pavilion that contributed to its "excursion" atmosphere.
The Legend
-  Local folklore attributes the discovery of the springs to two brothers who were searching for treasure in the forest but instead found the "miraculous" medicinal water.
Decline and Legacy
-  Destruction: Much of the spa complex was destroyed by a fire in 1930.
