Rare Vintage Greg Olson Studio Pottery Warming base, Skillet and Lid.

An incredibly scarce, complete 3-piece functional set from California studio potter Greg Olson.

Virtually impossible to find another complete set with the matching venting warming base and original lid intact.

EXCELLENT PRE-OWNED CONDITION!

No chips or cracks.

Bottom of skillet does have marks where the tealight/votive candle was used to warm skillet.

This is a 3-piece set, signed on the bottom.

Completely functional for a tealight/votive candle, and features his classic multi-tonal drip glaze finish.

Greg Olson works from his Weaverville, California studio.

His pieces are  highly collectible and known for its durable craftsmanship and beautiful 1970s/1980s aesthetic

His stoneware is lead-free.

The top lidded skillet sits perfectly flush over the vented burner base.

Back in the 1970s and 80s, these sets were incredibly popular for keeping cheese or chocolate fondue, hot dips, or mulled cider warm right at the dining table.

The lid is not flush on top of skillet to allow ventilation.

How It Works:

• ​The Heat Source: You place a small tealight candle or votive inside the center of this base.

• ​Airflow & Features: The round cutouts around the middle allow oxygen to enter so the candle stays lit, creating a beautiful "luminary" glow. The deep notches cut into the top rim are there to allow heat and smoke to vent safely out the sides when the heavy casserole dish is resting on top.

• ​The Glaze Match: It features the exact same gorgeous, earth-toned drip glaze, shifting from the rich brown rim down into that striking blue-green ombre band around the flared bottom.
