In very good vintage condition. Printed on twill with embroidered merrow type edge, sew on patch. Slight discoloration or staining to back. Approx 4.25” or 11 cm square. This item is a vintage embroidered club patch from the Wilmslow Lacrosse Club. The patch features the iconic, grinning Cheshire Cat lying across a lacrosse stick. This pays homage to regional folklore and Lewis Carroll's famous character from Alice in Wonderland, as Wilmslow is a town located in Cheshire, England. While the modern-day Wilmslow Lacrosse Club (which operates under the Wilmslow Phoenix Sports Club umbrella) updated its branding to a phoenix motif, retro emblems like this one celebrating the Cheshire Cat are highly collectible items for lacrosse historians and local sports memorabilia enthusiasts.
