Churchill  Homespun Stonecast Wild Strawberry Dinner Plates England ~ S8

Description:  Part of Churchill's vintage Homespun Stonecast line, it is distinctly known for its rustic, oven-to-table stoneware design rather than delicate fine china.  Produced in Staffordshire, England in the 1970s, it features a warm, brown-speckled glaze and hand-painted strawberry motifs.

Interesting fact:  It is often confused with the similarly named Wild Strawberry bone china pattern by Wedgwood (which has been produced since 1965). While Churchill's version is an earthy, mid-century modern cottage classic, Wedgwood's is an ultra-formal design often accented with 22-karat gold.

Condition:  Used, but not abused.  If there are any utensil marks on the floor, I could not identify them.  There are NO chips, cracks, flaws fleabites, scratches, scuffs, stains, repairs or any other cosmetic / structural issues.  The backstamps are crisp, legible and certify: "[Logo Homespun Stonecast ~ b CHURCHILL ~ Staffordshire England] ~ Detergent Proof 6 ~ Wild Strawberry"
