Offered for sale is an interesting clockwork mechanism that looks to be set up to produce timed electrical pulses - use/application is unknown and the item is untested.
The clockwork movement is from the USA and branded as follows:
Seth Thomas, Thomaston, Connecticut
Note: Seth Thomas (1785–1859) was a pioneering American clockmaker who established a massive manufacturing empire in Plymouth Hollow, Connecticut, which was renamed Thomaston in his honor in 1875. Founded in 1813, the company became a leading U.S. manufacturer of high-quality, affordable clocks, including mantel, wall, and tower clocks.
From looking atthe mechanism it seems that the clockwork system can be set to produce a timed electronic signal/pulse via lifting the lever that's dipped in a small pool of mercury, hence breaking and making a circuit.
The item will be well wrapped for transit and shipping will be by Royal Mail in the UK.
Thanks for looking.
