Description: A very handsome English George II solid sterling silver one pint tankard, having a plain round bellied shaped body, fitted with a scroll shaped handle with protruding acanthus leaf shaped thumb piece and sitting on a circular shaped pedestal base. The main body is hand engraved with a coat of arms crest mark but not engraved with any presentation inscriptions, initials, monograms or signs of anything erased. The tankard is of an excellent large size, has an excellent thick gauge of solid sterling silver and weighs an impressive 396 grams. A fantastic example from the King George II period and is of 274 years of age, an excellent true antique not a modern reproduction and is ready to be added to your collection. A fabulous clean George II example.

Measurements: Height 13 cm, Diameter across top rim 8.7 cm and base 9 cm (Excluding the handle)
Condition report: Excellent very clean condition for its 274 years of age with no dents, dings, holes, splits or repairs. The main body does have some slight age related surface marks, which is to be expected with age and use but nothing major or anything really that noticeable. The top and bottom rims are perfectly in shape and stands well on display with no wobble. The handle is not pushed in or any splits to the interior from a pushed in handle. The scroll shaped handle is in excellent condition with no repairs or damage. The interior for its age is in excellent clean condition and holds liquids perfectly well with no leaks and definitely no holes. The tankard hasn't been engraved with any personal engraved inscriptions or signs of anything erased. The underneath of the base is hallmarked with very readable English solid sterling silver hallmarks. Just some slight wear to the makers hallmark but still very readable. Overall a fabulous example from the George II period, which is ready to be added to your collection. A fine example.
