This Bone China figurine from Royal Worcester named "GRANDMOTHER'S DRESS" was modelled and designed by Freda Doughty (F. G. Doughty) in 1935.  Identified as Model No. 3081.  but...So Sad…her head has been glued back into place at the neck, as shown. This Blonde young lady is dressed up in her Grandmother's White Dress, with her matching Nightcap, Collar, Cuffs, Yoke and delicate Ruffled Hemline all trimmed in Pink.  Hand Painted.  Clearly marked on underside with the Royal Worcester stamp, with a Handwritten title and designer's name added before firing.  This figurine model's production was wildly popular with a multitude of handpainted color variations and is said to have helped keep Royal Worcester from the brink of bankruptcy.  In fact, Freda Doughty and her sister, Dorothy, were both prolific designers for Royal Worcester in the 1930's and 1940's and their work stood out from their contemporaries.

GRANDMOTHER'S DRESS was introduced in 1935, gained peak popularity in the 1940's, and later retired.  The "RdNo.799938" on the underside identifies the Royal Worcester registration number with the British Patent Office to legally protect the design.  The central number "51" within the Royal Worcester Crown logo represents the year of 1751 when the company was founded in England.  The Hand Painted "N P" in Pink are the initials of the decorator who painted this piece.
