Description

This is a charming mechanical singing bird music box clock by Reuge, known for its fine craftsmanship and intricate automaton designs. The piece features a hand-wound mechanism and a decorative case with elegant detailing. When the side button is pressed, the lid opens and the bird emerges. Accompanied by its chirping sound, the bird gently sways from side to side, flaps its wings, and opens and closes its beak in a charming animated motion.

The clock is in working condition and keeps time properly. The mainspring winds smoothly. The alarm is not working, and its ON/OFF lever on the back is stiff and cannot be moved to the left (see photo 9). There are surface scratches on the blue top panel, some of which are noticeable depending on the angle. The side blue panels also show light wear and dullness. The dial has a faint black line of unknown origin, and the alarm hand shows discoloration. The gold accents on the floral lid show slight tarnish, while the gold relief remains in generally good condition. The back shows some discoloration, dullness, and minor rust. The original box is included. The exterior shows some wear, including deterioration to the clasp. The inside of the lid is clean, while the beige base shows some staining.

The size is approximately 4.6 x 3.0 x 2.2 inches (11.8 x 7.6 x 5.7 cm).
