It does NOT contain any Freon or chemicals to chill the air as all true air conditioners do. This is a true swamp cooler...natural cooling unit. It works by pulling in the warm air and cooling that air over ice and expelling a stream of cool air from the vent. This model unit can help cool down the air temp of a tent, pop up camper, room or boat cabin not larger than 8' x8'.
