This is a working Texas Instruments TI-30X Solar Scientific Calculator. There is no cover for it, but it is clean. For some reason there is a purple mark on the back of it, but it is still functional and you'll be able to identify which one is yours! The VINTAGE calculator is from 05/93.
Scientific calculators are primarily used in high school and introductory college math courses that involve trigonometry, logarithms, exponential growth, and statistics. Key classes include Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics, as well as science courses like Chemistry and Physics.
Key Math Classes Using Scientific Calculators: * Algebra I & II: Used for exponents, roots, and complex calculations. * Geometry: Utilized for trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan). * Pre-Calculus & Calculus: Often used for advanced functions before moving to graphing calculators. * Statistics: Required for data analysis, probability, and standard deviation. * Math Analysis/College Algebra: Common for courses that allow scientific but not graphing calculators.
They are favored over graphing calculators in some courses (like Calculus I or specific college courses) to ensure students understand the underlying calculations.
