Vintage 1957 Majex Rare Open Heart Visible Balance Wheel Steel Case 35mm Gents Watch

A lovely rare vintage gents Majex watch with open heart balance wheel that is working and keeping good time for its age. Interestingly, Frederique Constant is recognised for bringing this idea to the market however this watch was released in 1957, I have located online the original advert for it which is displayed in the last photo of the listing. It is in good condition with some minor discolouration to the face, and light tarnishing to the hands, the original crystal is in good condition with some tiny marks in places, the steel case and caseback have some small marks in places, it is fitted to a brand new high quality Daniel Wellington brown leather strap.

The watch has an unusual location of the crown between the 2 & 3 hour markers and it's very strange to view the rear of the movement without its balance wheel on display

It measures approx 35mm diameter excluding the crown by 42mm from lug to lug
