Up for sale is an authentic bronze nummus of Emperor Theodosius I, struck between AD 379–395. Theodosius was the last ruler to unite the Roman Empire and is famously known for making Christianity the official state religion and ending the Pagan Olympic Games.

Obverse: Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Theodosius I facing right. Legend: DN THEODOSIVS PF AVG.

Reverse: Likely the VOT X MVLT XX type within a laurel wreath or SALVS REIPVBLICAE showing Victory with a trophy.

Certification: Authenticated and protected in an NGC Ancients slab.

Condition: This specimen has a very deep, dark "ebony" patina. While the surface shows significant wear (typical for these small AE4s), the imperial profile is distinct and powerful.
