A Unique 19th-Century Artifact: 1830-1831 New-York Mirror with Period Facsimiles

This volume is a fascinating "time capsule" of New York history. Included is the complete Volume VIII (1830-1831) of The New-York Mirror.

The Cover Notes:

Pasted to the front cover are two historic facsimile currency notes (6 cents and 9 cents) originally dated 1814. According to expert analysis, these are high-quality 1860s reproductions from the famous Valentine’s Manuals. While not 1814 originals, these 19th-century reprints are collectible in their own right and were likely added to the book by a contemporary owner over 150 years ago.

Features:

• Book: Authentic 1830-1831 edition with period-correct marbled boards and leather spine.

• Content: Loaded with early American literature, steel engravings, and sheet music.

• Condition: Antique condition with heavy foxing and shelf wear. Binding remains tight.
