Antique Georgian sampler by Jane Myatt Horton Hay dated 1824. This sampler doesn’t have any damage but is faded/ discoloured , the photos look yellowish in some but the sampler isn’t represented accurately colourwise in some photos
please only purchase once you have viewed all the photos, read the description and contact me should you require further Details or more pictures

This sampler has a fine detailed deep border which I believe is silk on linen and is rather beautiful despite the background discolouration .
There is a central verse

Favour Is deceitfull and beauty is vain
But a woman that feareth the lord
She shall be praised
Jane Myatt Horton Hay 1824

Below the verse are two deer with large antlers or fire breathing dragons?! , birds either side of a small tree
Two hearts, dogs, and further plants and birds. I am sure it would have been quite vibrant if the backing wasn’t so discoloured
No notable holes
I have waxed the frame as it was looking a bit tired and it is the frame it came in.
Approximately 41.5cm x 51 cm
Old wavy glass
