How do I wash a wig?
Now you might be thinking, do I really need to wash my synthetic wig? Well...yes! Washing your wig will help it look flawless for as long as possible, and who wouldn't want that. Washing a wig is a bit different than washing your hair, but don’t worry, we’re helping you through the process step-by-step :)
Step 1: Detangle
Just like you would with your hair, make sure to brush your synthetic wig before you start washing it! We suggest using either a wide tooth comb or a paddle brush to detangle. Make sure to lay your piece flat on a table and start brushing from the ends and work your way up to the roots to avoid breakage!
Step 2: Shampoo
Even though you might love a super hot shower, your wig definitely won’t! Use lukewarm water to wash your wig from root to tip. Use a synthetic hair shampoo to wash using circular motions.
Step 3: Conditioner
To help keep your wig feeling soft and silky, use your fav leave-in conditioner, detangler, or serum. Avoid the roots, and just focus on the ends of the wig!
Step 4: Dry
You know how we said washing a wig was different than washing your hair? Well, the same goes for drying. Make sure to air dry your wig! Place it on a wig stand or wig head, and let nature do it’s thing ;)
Washing your wig is a key part in taking care of it. We suggest washing your synthetic wig at least every 30 wears to keep it looking flawless!
