A Pain in the Ass (original French title: L'Emmerdeur) is a 1973 French dark comedy film directed by Édouard Molinaro, starring Lino Ventura as a hitman and Jacques Brel as the suicidal man in the next hotel room whose attempts to end his life constantly interfere with the hitman's mission. The film, based on a play by Francis Veber, is known for its comedic premise of a professional killer being driven to distraction by an incompetent, neurotic neighbor, and was later remade by Billy Wilder as Buddy Buddy (1981).
