Rare original First Edition of the 1893 hardcover book ALICE’S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND from Lewis Carroll, published by Thomas Y. Crowley & Co. The inspiration for ALICE IN WONDERLAND film and precursor to Through the Looking Glass. It’s an antique and is over 130 years old! And remarkably it’s in really good condition! The skin is fully intact and all pages are attached to the spine. No major tears or rips, and the only marking is an inscription on inside from 1897 (which you can see in provided photos). The pages are slightly yellowed due to age and there are a couple of stray age spots. The cover and back are in good shape, with some yellowing and darkening of the lovely white flowers on the light blue background, but despite this antiqued discoloration it still looks great and would be a stand-out part of any collection. It’s not been formally assessed by a book dealer but it’s in great condition for its age and compared to other first edition copies of this book that I’ve been able to find online. I’m happy to answer any specific questions or provide any other photos.
