Psychedelic Shack is the twelfth studio album by the American soul group. It was released on the Motown subsidiary Gordy Records label in March 1970. The album was completely written by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong and produced by Whitfield. Along with the hit title track, which peaked at # 7 on Billboards Hot 100 Singles and # 2 on the R & B Single’s chart, it includes the original version of “War”, a track later to become a huge hit for Edwin Starr. The album features the third incarnation of the group with Dennis Edwards, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks, Melvin Franklin and Otis Williams. Kendricks left soon after for a successful solo career. Nice original from ‘70 here.
