‘Twenty Thousand Roads, The Ballad of Gram
Parsons and His Cosmic American Music’. American paperback published in 2008 by
Villard Books. Researched and written by
David N. Meyer this is an impressive and detailed biography of the troubled
songster (1946-1973). Gram Parsons popularized what he called ‘Cosmic American
Music’ (hence the title) a hybrid of country, rhythm, blues, soul, folk and
rock and developed a perhaps unlikely friendship with Keith Richards from the Rolling
Stones. Contains some black & white photos of Parsons.
