Up for auction/sale is a newly built/rebuilt Windows 95 computer. This machine contains a fresh & complete Windows 95 install and is up and running nicely. Please check the ENTIRE listing carefully, I list in "Fine Print" section below any issues I have with this build.
Here are some of the component details:
- PCChips M571 v.7.0A Super Socket 7 motherboard
- 233MHz MMX CPU
- 4GB PATA Hard drive
- 32 MB Ram
- Onboard SIS 5598 video
- Soundblaster 16 PnP - (P/N CT2940)
- 1 Tested working CD drive - however, Eject doesn't work.
- Working 5-1/4" & 3-1/2" floppy drives
- Winbest AT keyboard
- Logitech MD14 Serial mouse
- New coin cell battery
- Game pad controller (not tested)
- Myst and Riven original game CD pack included!
- Selected set of standard 95 era utility apps and a small set of pre-loaded games compatible with this hardware
- Power cable for the CPU
- I have lots of extra parts and pieces, if you are looking for something, let me know - I might toss it in! Especially if it is on one of my auctions and less than $5.
Case is super clean and looks very nice, however it is subject to standard yellowing for this era of case. Mind you this is a vintage computer and it may have some software issues or be subject to hardware failure due to its vintage nature. That being said, it has run excellent for me with any issues as noted below.
"Fine Print" ...as follows:
- Power supply fan will come on vibrating once in while, usually settles down with a tap or by itself.
- As noted above CD eject is stuck for whatever reason. A paperclip was used to open, and most of what you see was installed via this drive. This is a simple replacement if you find another ATAPI drive.
- Onboard sound was attempted, but turned off because it was spotty with drivers I found. SB16 seems to work perfect except those unknown "Other devices" came up with that install. Doesnt seem to have any issues though.
- Small games selection based on Windows 95 era & hardware capabilities which may require tuning.
- Case has standard beige case yellowing, see difference in full front view where slider is up.
- As always, photos taken are of the actual unit you will receive.
- I package my vintage equipment very carefully for the best chance of safe arrival. I always recommended checking cable clearances, heat sink, SIMMS, cards, etc. - before powering up after shipping.
Please note I may have more of these nice rebuilds coming up so keep an eye on my listings!
