This Silver Moon washboard dates back to the 1910s to the 1930s, a period when wooden-framed boards with galvanized metal surfaces were standard household items. During this same era, the National Washboard Company dominated the washboard market.

The Name: The "Silver Moon" is a RARE 'Signature Style' that is Hard to find, especially in this condition. The name refers to the zinc-coated (galvanized) metal scrubbing surface, which had a bright, silver-like appearance when new.

The presence of vibrant, unfaded ink—like the Silver Moon insignia is extremely Rare, as soap and water often wore these designs away during use. Luckily, It was primarily used by my Nanuzzu as a 'Musical Instrument' while he would entertain other Mill Workers in his beautiful Backyard. You can see the striking portions on the front side of the metal.

This board was acquired by my Great Grandparents. Italian immigrants working for the Long-Bell Lumber Company. It is a special piece, intended as a special purchase, to a new owner that will continue The Story.
