The cord is old and brittle and needs replacement before using.  (I did plug it in just to see if it worked and the light came on, I don't have any slides to check it further.)  There's a small piece of plastic that has chipped off where a screw is used to hold the housing together, although the other side screw is there and holds it in place.  Please enlarge all the photo's so you can see the screw hole damage and condition.
