  MATERIAL FROM LIGHTHING RIDGE

This magnificent opal has been cut to a pear shape design.

It is a nice size for a pendant or larger ring.

Note: Due to its thickness it will be best to protect it within a bezel.

It presents with a stunning broadflash pattern of all the opal colours possible when stationary or rotated.

Rated by me as N4 in body tone (using the Opal Association's Guide for crystal etc.) with a brightness of B3.

It has been finished as a low cabochon top and flat back.

Weight 1.6cts and measures 15mmx8mmx1.5mm.

Please bear in mind that precious opal looks different in every different lighting condition and at every angle as the colours play across the surface.

The attached photos were taken by a Samsung Galaxy S10 mobile phone in natural light or under an LED desk lamp. Apart from cropping they have not been enhanced in any way. 

The material used is from personal stock acquired through mining at Mintabie and Lambina for more than 30 years.

All the finished opal items that I offer for sale are from my own material.
