Kit Specifications
The Entex 1:16 #9002 1937 Packard Formal Sedan 12 Cylinder is a large-scale vintage plastic model kit, originally a Bandai tooling reboxed by Entex in the late 1970s. It is highly regarded for its impressive size and detail, measuring approximately 13.5 inches (34 cm) in length when completed.
- Engine Detail: Includes a highly detailed replica of the 473 cubic inch Packard V-12 engine.
- Working Parts: Features complex detailing such as opening doors, hood, and trunk with tiny hinges.
- Interior: Includes a detailed cabin with simulated upholstery, a "Banjo" steering wheel, and a comprehensive dashboard.
- Chassis: Built on a detailed frame with suspension components and realistic tires.
- Skill Level: Rated as Skill Level 3 (Intermediate), requiring patience for small parts like door hinges.
- Molding Quality: Expert builders on Britmodeller praise the Bandai-sourced molds for having "crisp" detail and a high-quality finish despite the age of the tooling.
- Assembly Challenge: One builder noted that the tiny hinges for the doors and hood are particularly challenging to manage with modern hands, sometimes leading to the decision to glue them shut to preserve the exterior lines.
- Age Warning: Reviewers warn that the 40-year-old decals may be unusable due to age and recommend testing them or using a decal restorer before application.
I use 5 different values for condition and they are as follows
#1 NIB Never been opened position
#2 OBN Open Box New-All parts are still sealed in Mfg plastic (Exception may be clear parts or add ons)
#3 OBC-Open box complete- Parts have been removed from Mfg internal packaging-I checked every part to make sure everything is there and consider the model complete. Have put small loose parts in its on plastic bag and repackaged the sprues so no parts can get lost.
#4 OBCS Open box complete started -small parts have been glued together like wings, tail section, pilot to pilot seat, wheel assemblies, fender to frame, engines or other mischelanious parts.
#5 OBNC-Open Box not complete-This may mean missing decals, small parts, Directions etc. These can be used to add to your parts collection or as diarama's as wrecked planes or other creative uses.
