This is a 1919-S semi-key date Buffalo Nickel, that has had its date area restored. These originally dateless buffalo nickels have been restored using acid but has been carefully done as you can see in the pictures to minimize the areas of restoration. It is a great way to obtain semi-key and key date buffalo nickels at a more reasonable price and fill the more difficult holes in your collection.
