An old wooden railway chest/trunk with Southern Railway luggage label dating it to early-mid 20th century. It is a well used rustic/industrial piece with lots of character and signs of wear/use. Made of wood with a black finish to the outside it has removable internal trays, one of which is original and the other may be a later addition/replacement. It has metal trim, handles and latch and would work well for storage/tools etc.
Condition: Lots of signs of use/age with general surface wear/chips/knocks/marks/scratches. Some signs of historic repairs to lid. Wear to laquer on metal fixings. All that said it is still sturdy with plenty of life left. Please see photos for details of condition.
