You are looking at a very rare watch. This watch is a Solvil et Titus. Solvil et Titus was a Swiss brand founded in 1887. Many people call it Titus. You don't see this model often. I have only had one in 30 years of collecting. This is the all black Titus 9279 men's model watch. This watch is equipped with the Valjoux 7750 automatic movement. This specific black PVD chronograph case was used by Titus for models similar to the Heuer Pasadena and the LeJour 7000, which also utilized the Valjoux 7750 movement. These style of watches were typically referred to as the "Top Gun" Pilot style watches from the late 1980s. Their values are exploding, especially the Heuer branded ones. Here is your chance to get yourself a "poor man's" Top Gun Heuer Pilot at a fraction of the price. I am a watch collector who owns over 500 TAG Heuer watches. I currently have quite a few for sale. It was simply time to clean out the closet. This survivor is a men's size Titus watch with a case size of about 40mm (44mm crown included). The crystal is in very good condition with some small & tiny scratches. The back casing is in good condition with several light scratches, mostly from the back casing removal tool. The bracelet is an aftermarket black rubber tropic two piece strap that you commonly see with these models. It attaches and adjusts to look like a fitted clasp, when secured. It is in excellent condition with light wear. The casing looks very good with light wearing & patina of the PVD coating. The bezel is in very good condition with light scratches. The hands & hour markers look very good to excellent. I would rate this true survivor as a solid 8.75 out of 10 in condition (as compared to other Titus models). These are hard to grade since you don't see many for sale. This is the nicest example of a 9279 Titus that I have seen in a long time. Most are beat up, but not this one. The watch will fit up to an 8.95 inch wrist on the adjustable band. This watch has a Breitling-branded Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. "Breitling" can be seen in cursive etched across the rotor. This Breitling Caliber 13, which is a 17 jewel automatic movement, is a chronometer grade version of the Swiss Valjoux 7750. All time and date functions work accurately. It has always kept accurate time. This model has the day & date function. This is a Swiss made automatic chronograph movement known for its "wobble effect" when the rotor spins freely. This model is not to be worn in water. It is likely that a watchmaker replaced the original Titus rotor with the Breitling one, since both watches use the identical base movement (Valjoux 7750), and the parts are interchangeable.
