The telescope is marked QUESTAR BRAND and bears serial number 5-DP-6181-BB on the base. Based on Questar factory serial number conventions, the DP designation identifies this as a Duplex model, while the BB suffix corresponds to Broadband optical coatings, which were introduced in the mid-1970s. The serial range places this example firmly in the mid-1970s production period.

The scope features its distinctive purple-tinted optical tube, precision setting circles, and machined aluminum base. The Duplex configuration allows removal from the base for use on a standard tripod, making it one of the more desirable Questar variants among collectors and users alike.
