Maori Twist Pikorua Pendant, New Zealand Symbol of Unity, Love,Handmade Necklace. Pendant is 2.5 x .1.2 inches. Adjustable cord is up to 28 inches, 1mm thick cord.  

This pendant has an important meaning to the person wearing it: The Pikorua or single twist shape represents the eternal emerging paths in life. The figure-eight form symbolizes the bond between two people, their loyalty and love. This shape reflects the natural ebbs and flows that occur in a relationship, but the two people will always find their way back to each other. This will strengthen you love of live and the love of people that you care about, your significant other.

(Please note, this is a very solid quality carving. Well finished from natural recycled materials.)

Remember, when you consider the value of some item, somebody spent a 4-5 hours or more cutting it out of a select piece of recycled bone. I can tell you from trying it myself, this material is hard as a rock. Then they engraved a scrimshaw design into the pendant and finished it smooth. Because of COVID, these kinds of items in this quality are getting very hard to find.
