A wonderful mid to late 19th century presentation plate made by Coalport with central Armorial coat of arms for the order of the royal garter. This 10 inch diameter plate. There’s the important pink Windsor castle mark to the reverse, indicating that it was used at a function for the order at the Castle. Never a number of functions held there from the 1830s until the late 19th century and pieces of porcelain from this said were known to be given to various servants who worked at the events. This one likely dates from the 1880s. The plate is in excellent condition, though the orders central cross is white instead of the normal red.
